Welcome. This website is shared by the BRG (Bellenden Residents’ Group) and SRUG (Southwark Rail Users Group). The topics are linked to those covered on the Peckham Vision website and also on Facebook and twitter - please follow.

Bellenden Residents' Group (BRG)

Boundary map

The BRG is a community group run by local residents. The aim is to develop a network of people in the neighbourhood who can communicate easily on matters of mutual local interest. The area covered is the Rye Lane West neighbourhood, incorporating the Bellenden neighbourhood: see the map. This is the SE15 area west of Rye Lane, south of Peckham High Street and Peckham Road, and runs up to the SE5 and SE22 borders, and overlaps with the south west part of Peckham town centre. See the map for the streets covered. Click here to see the BRG pages.

The main focus is around Planning issues:

  • effect on this neighbourhood of the Peckham & Nunhead Area Action Plan (PNAAP), and the development of our own neighbourhood profile through the Neighbourhood Pictures project on this website
  • individual Planning or Licensing applications which affect the neighbourhood.
  • planning policy developments that affect this neighbourhood and the adjacent Peckham town centre; more information on these can be found also on www.peckhamvision.org

Click on topic headings in left column to see more.

Other developing topics include local traffic issues, and a collection of pictures, material and comments about the history of this neighbourhood.

Southwark Rail Users' Group (SRUG)

SRUG is a group for local rail users of routes and stations in mid-central Southwark, serving Peckham Rye, Nunhead, South Bermondsey, Queens Road, Denmark Hill, East Dulwich, North Dulwich. See these stations on the diagram. The aims are to learn enough about the local rail system to make informed comments and secure improvements to stations and services. Main current campaigns:
  • to Save our Victoria Services. see here
  • to improve all services: by integrated planning & management of rail services in our inner south London area; including 7 day regular and frequent services into key central London stations, new interchanges at Clapham, Battersea and Brixton, improving marketing of the services, and planning the Bakerloo Line extension through Southwark.
